Join the CCO for Opening Night, where you will sample the themes of the upcoming season. In Tenebrae, Osvaldo Golijov weaves French Baroque themes from Couperin with the flair of his spiritual homeland, Israel. Inquisitive Byzantine scales unfold in Ljubica Maric’s Ostinato super theme Oktochoia, and the Orchestra is joined by Billy Ray Hunter, Principal Trumpet of the Metropolitan Opera, for Haydn’s blockbuster Trumpet Concerto. The evening concludes with a flight through fairy lands with the full ballet version of Ravel’s Ma mère l’Oye (Mother Goose).
