MAJESTIC, INSPIRATION, and MOVING are all terms that describe Mozart’s legendary Requiem. We’re tremendously pleased to be joined once again by Tamara Acosta, Ivy Walz, Nathaniel McEwen, Marc Webster, and the Ithaca College Choir, directed by Janet Galván. A delightful and surprisingly intricate piece by C.P.E. Bach will begin the evening and we’ll present the popular “Goldfinch” flute concerto by Vivaldi, performed by CCO’s Wendy Herbener Mehne. This will be a truly grand finale to Cornelia Laemmli Orth’s first full season on the podium.
BENEFIT AUCTION 6:00pm
Remember to arrive early for our immensely popular Benefit Auction at 6:00pm! (This replaces our usual Pre-concert Chat.) This is our single largest fundraiser each year and is a wonderful chance to take home a bottle of wine, gift certificates to popular area restaurants and local businesses, or win a seat at a special dinner or event you won’t find anywhere else, all while benefiting Ithaca’s Orchestra! We are grateful to Ithaca Talent Education for providing live music in the lobby during the Auction. The advanced students in their Heifetz Group will perform both before the concert, and during the intermission.
