SAINT-SAENS: Violin Sonata No. 1 in D Minor, Op 75
RAVEL: Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello
Performers: Christina Bouey (violin), Rosemary Elliott (cello), Miri Yampolsky (piano), Xak Bjerken (piano)
The incredible colors Ravel achieves combined with his legendary orchestration skills, make this trio as seductive and exciting as any piece he ever wrote. In the Saint-Saëns, the violin part is so virtuosic and demanding that the composer joked it should be the “hippogriffsonata,” implying only a mythical creature could play it.

What Should I Expect at a Concert?
— Each ticket can be used to attend in-person (pending capacity limits) OR you can join the concert via livestream.
— Physical distancing (6 ft minimum) and face masks will be required at all CCO concerts.
— Shorter programs (usually about 60 minutes) with no intermission.
— General admission seating so you can more easily observe physical distancing guidelines.
All tickets must be reserved in advance (though you may pay at the door). Ticket sales at the door will be temporarily suspended since we need to track the number of in-person audience members to ensure we stay within the permitted capacity max at each venue.
