Family Concert #2

4:00 pm Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL)

Get swept up in the magic created by great stories and live music as the CCO and Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL) join forces for our third year of our Family Concert and Storytime series.  Encouraged by the tremendous turnout at our first two events, we’ve added a second Family Concert this season!

This month’s fun-filled, musical storytime will bring to life the acclaimed picture book, “I Know a Shy Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello” written by Barbara S. Garriel and illustrated by John O’Brien.  This lively book imagines the folk rhyme “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” using musical instruments.

We’ll have the help of musicians from the CCO to help tell the tale, and children will have an opportunity to try out an instrument or two so be sure to bring the entire family!

PLUS!  We’re very excited to announce we’ll have a special guest join us – Benjamin Doane, who is one of our youth concerto competition winners.  Bring your kids to hear this incredible young performer and get a little preview before he takes the stage as one of our featured soloists on our March 11th concert at Ford Hall.

Free admission for this Family Concert & Storytime is made possible by the generosity of our sponsors.
