Violist Joshua Lohner enjoys an active and multifaceted performing career. As an orchestral musician, he performs with various orchestras in New York and Pennsylvania, and is a member of Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra. His first season as a member of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra began in September 2018. He holds a Master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah. He studied with professors Carol Rodland and Roberta Zalkind. His formal education included a year of study abroad at the Rotterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands.

Mr. Lohner has a passion for new music and strives to make it more available and accessible to the public through performance and education. He also enjoys frequent collaboration with composers and has been involved in the premiers of works by Michael Frazier, Diana Rosenblum, Alex Stephenson, Igor Marquez, Nick Morandi, and Igor Iachimciuc. He performs often with the Syracuse Society for New Music as a chamber musician and soloist.

As a chamber musician, Lohner is a founding member of the Maven Piano Quartet. He also works as a studio musician, and teaches privately.
