Jonathan Dozois
Second Horn
“Performing with the CCO is a unique experience. It offers an opportunity both to perform repertoire that is never done in larger orchestral settings, as well as to experience many orchestral standards in a chamber music setting. For this reason and many others, I’m always thrilled to head down to Ithaca for a concert with the CCO.”
Rochester-Based hornist Jonathan Dozois has served as 2nd Horn for the CCO since 2018. In addition to his work with the CCO, he also serves as 2nd horn for Syracuse’s Symphoria. An active educator, he serves on faculty at Roberts Wesleyan College and Houghton University’s Greatbatch School of Music. Having previously spent 4 seasons as Acting Associate Principal Horn with the Rochester Philharmonic, he also held the position of Principal Horn with Seoul’s Symphony S.O.N.G. and 3rd Horn with the Wichita Symphony. Jonathan holds a BM from the Eastman School of Music and an MM from Wichita State University, where he studied with W. Peter Kurau and Dr. Nicholas Smith.
