Sandra Halleran +
Janos Starker Honorary Chair
“The CCO offers an intimacy of music-making unlike a larger symphony orchestra. The range of expression is larger and the quality of the music making is higher when each individual player’s talents are really creating the music. With fewer players, each individual player is challenged to perform at the highest level.”
Sandra Halleran is an active freelance musician and cello teacher in the Rochester area. She has been a member of the CCO since 2007. She is on the collegiate faculty of Nazareth College and teaches private cello lessons, Suzuki group classes, and chamber music at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance, Seton Catholic School, Our Lady of Mercy High School, and in her own private studio. In addition to being a member of the CCO, she also performs with The Rochester Oratorio Society and Rochester Lyric Opera, and is also the director of the freelance chamber group The Marini String Ensemble. Ms. Halleran received her Master’s Degree from the Eastman School of Music and her Bachelor’s Degree from Rice University.
In her free time, Ms. Halleran enjoys renovating her 1920’s house, cooking, reading, tending her large fresh water aquarium and caring for her two cats, Felix and Ruby.
